Picnicking by the river, taking a canoe out on the water or hosting visitors in the beautiful house or stunning function room - there have been so many different pleasures to life at Blackjacks Mill. The current owner bought the property 10 years ago without even seeing the inside of the building and since then has transformed it into a magical place to both live and welcome guests. "Parts of the building, which was a working mill until 1906, date back to the 18th century," said the owner. When she bought it, it had already been used as a residential property but had been boarded up and was without a working kitchen or bathroom. "Renovating it was a journey of discovery - there were parts of the grounds too that we had not realised were there," she said. "But it was an exciting project to take on; it was in such an amazing location, with proximity to London and the countryside, and it was full of wonderful character."
